Climate Action is in Our Hands

December 2015, just a year and a half ago, 200 nations gathered in Paris and created a global agreement acknowledging the serious threats posed by climate change. World leaders agreed and provided unified global leadership for immediate climate action setting the world on a low-carbon course thus protecting the planet for our children and future generations.

I completely agree with and thank President Obama for his leadership role and comprehensive understanding of the Paris Climate Accord and his newly released statement.

In addition, I endorse the National Resources Defense Council’s protection of our planet and it’s urgent update on climate change.

I am deeply concerned about the newly elected American President’s personal withdrawal of United States of America from the Paris Climate Accord.

  • When 70% of Americans, including children, across this great nation have been educated and have become environmentally concerned for their future;
  • When people throughout the country believe Clean Air and Clean Water are their heritage, and believe in the importance of the Paris Climate Accord;
  • When state governments and governmental leaders around the world, titans of industry, religious leaders, are united in their support of the objectives of the Paris Climate Accord;
  • When the scientific, environmental, and conservation global communities support stronger measures to minimize the acceleration of climate change caused by the release of greenhouse gases.

Then, we, the public, must voice our objection and make it clear that the United States of America will not support this decision of one poorly informed public servant.

After seventy-two years of scuba diving, exploring the ocean, and documenting our precious and diverse planet’s lands, seas, and cultures, I want to be able to look into the eyes of children and grandchildren, and tell them they can have the same privileges I have had. There is more that we must do to protect our future and the future for generations yet to come. We, as the human species, are intelligent, creative, and adaptable. We are the only species on the planet that has the choice and privilege not to disappear. We all must take actions now for the future we want; the future is in our hands.

Now more than ever we must take actions supporting clean green energy. Please make a donation TODAY.
